CEO, Tecnoveritas
Dr Jorge Antunes is the Founder, CEO, and Technical Director of TecnoVeritas, a Marine Engineering Innovation company dedicated to ship energy systems and decarbonisation. With over 40 years of experience in marine engineering, he is a specialist in ship performance, fleet energy management, and the environmental retrofitting of cruise and naval vessels.
He holds an MSc and PhD in Marine Technology from Newcastle University, U.K., where he also lectured for 20 years. His academic and technical work spans from conventional propulsion systems, diesel and gas, to nuclear, with a particular focus on dual-fuel hydrogen-based systems. He currently leads the Hydrogen Pioneer Project for Mitsubishi.
Dr Antunes has been a consultant to leading engine manufacturers and evaluator for EU H2020 programmes on green shipping and hydrogen. He has authored peer-reviewed publications, including in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, and regularly contributes as a reviewer for other scientific journals.
Under his leadership, TecnoVeritas has received international recognition, including the Seatrade Clean Shipping Award (2012) and a Green Project Award (2018). He is a Chartered Engineer and an active member of several professional associations related to marine technology and hydrogen development.
