Head of WindWings®, BAR Technologies
Lauren Eatwell is Head of WindWings® at BAR Technologies, where she leads the development, deployment, and commercial strategy of the company’s pioneering wind propulsion system. A central figure behind the WindWings ®, Lauren has played a key role in its design, classification, and real-world implementation positioning WindWings® as a transformative solution for decarbonising global shipping.
Her role spans the technical, operational and commercial, working closely with shipowners, operators, classification societies, shipyards, and regulators to ensure WindWings® is not only technically, but scalable, cost-effective and aligned with industry needs and environmental goals.
With a master’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Bath, Lauren has built a career focused on maritime innovation and sustainability. She is passionate about bridging the gap between breakthrough technology and practical application, helping the industry move beyond convention and towards real, measurable climate action.
In 2024, Lauren was named to the TIME100 Climate list, recognised globally as one of the most innovative leaders shaping the future of sustainable business.
