Product Manager for Marine Systems, Chart Industries

Martin Kálecký is the Product Manager for Marine Systems at Chart Industries, where he sets the strategy for their marine cryogenics portfolio and orchestrates the business and product development that brings hydrogen to sea. He leads Chart Marine’s propulsion platform, centered on a fuel tanks and integrated fuel-delivery system.
His focus is simple: create investable pathways to decarbonization by aligning technology roadmaps with customer economics, safety, and class requirements. He builds partnerships with shipowners, shipyards, classification societies, ports, and energy suppliers; shapes pilot programs; standardises modular building blocks; and translates lessons learned into go-to-market playbooks for global deployment. Martin also plays a key role in EU-funded projects focused on hydrogen propulsion and storage, leading Chart teams that have earned recognition in European innovation awards..
Over the last five years at Chart, he has worked exclusively in specialty markets: hydrogen, LNG, and carbon capture, developing the market intelligence and ecosystem relationships needed to accelerate adoption. At Motorship Propulsion & Future Fuels, Martin will outline how a hybrid LNG/LH₂ architecture de-risks early decisions, preserves capital flexibility, and positions fleets for tightening regulations while enhancing onboard experience with quiet, low-emission operation in sensitive areas.
Martin holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the Czech Technical University in Prague. Above all, he is a pragmatic optimist: Chart’s job is to turn proven cryogenics into bankable outcomes: safer operations, measurable emissions reduction, and a credible roadmap from today’s fuels to tomorrow’s zero-emission propulsion.
