Global Product Manager, ABB Marine & Ports
Sami Kanerva is a Global Product Manager for fuel cell solutions at ABB Marine & Ports.
He received the degree of Doctor in Science from Helsinki University of Technology in 2005 and since then has intensively worked on technology concepts for renewable energy and marine technology.
Sami has conducted the development of integrated marine fuel cell solutions since 2017, when ABB integrated the first marine fuel cell systems for two 100 kW demonstrators and joined the European research projects “MARANDA” and “FLAGSHIPS”. He has also contributed to the development of integrated fuel cell solution for the hydrogen powered megayacht “Breakthrough”, and the European hydrogen valley project “BalticSeaH2”.
Currently Sami has the global responsibility for the fuel cell integration offering at ABB Marine & Ports.
