Three shipbuilders have been invited to present revised proposals for Oman's Project Khareef Ocean Patrol Vessel (OPV) programme. Schelde Naval Shipbuilding in Netherland, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea and VT Shipbuilding in the UK were, earlier this year, short-listed to enter the final phase of competition for Project Khareef.
This calls for the design, construction and support of three 100 metre long helicopter-capable OPVs for the Royal Navy of Oman in a contract worth over $600 million, including support and training.
