Air lubrication system provider Silverstream Technologies signed a Memorandum of Understanding with HD Hyundai Marine Solution at this year’s Posidonia event. The deal will see the installation of the Silverstream System on existing vessels where HD Hyundai Marine Solution are engaged in the installation and system integration engineering on behalf of vessel owners.

Silverstream is not the only provider of air lubrication systems and some have seen charges of increased vibrations and subsequently additional maintenance costs due to their use.

Mann says that because their system uses low pressure air to create the microbubbles key to the process, there isn’t an increase in noise and vibrations that other systems might encounter.
