The company will design the LNG tanks of the three units, which will be equipped with GTT’s Mark III Flex containment system. The three 174,000 m3 gas carriers are being built on behalf of an Asian shipowner.

Deliveries of the vessels are scheduled between the second and third quarter of 2024.

GTT previously announced it had been awarded an tank design deal for two Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs) by HHI at the beginning of April. GTT will design the 98,000m3 tanks of the vessels, which will also be equipped with GTT’s Mark III Flex containment system. The vessels have been ordered on behalf of an Asian shipowner.

The vessels will be delivered in the last quarter of 2022 and the first quarter of 2023.

Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT, noted that Qatar Petroleum's final investment decision in its North Field expansion project, as well as the tender for LNG carriers issued last month represent commercial opportunities for the business in a Q1 stock exchange release.
