Exxon Mobil confirms Mobilgard 540 availability
ExxonMobil''s new 40BN cylinder oil, Mobilgard™ 540, will be available from 2 September 2019. The lubricant has been formulated for use with 0.50% sulphur fuels that comply with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) 2020 emission regulations and meets the requirements of two-stroke engine designers, MAN ES and WinGD.

Software fixes twin propeller vibration issue
An ABS technical investigation, conducted at the request of a prominent Greek-based operator of LNG carriers, identified occasional, but infrequent, vibrations exceeding limits on a twin propeller LNG carrier fitted with super-efficient three-bladed propellers. The issue was resolved in conjunction with the vessel’s classification society, engine designer and the shipyard.
