Damen to develop first newbuild methanol-fuelled tug in Europe

Damen Shipyards has announced that it is planning to deliver a zero-emission methanol powered tug for Boluda Towage. The tug will be based on a Damen RSD-E Tug 2513 design. The partners are currently working together to identify the harbour that will be best match its operational profile.

The tug will feature a completely new design based on Damen’s experience and knowledge thanks to its extensive R&D capability in alternative sustainable propulsion systems.
