FuelEU Maritime spawns unexpected profits

The maritime industry may be facing a compliance challenge, but it could also be on the verge of a financial win, according to new analysis by maritime data and compliance firm OceanScore

As the FuelEU Maritime regulation comes into effect, the industry could see a net gain of around €250 million.

OceanScore’s analysis shows that while the regulation creates a compliance deficit of roughly 0.8 million tonnes of CO₂e, this gap is expected to be closed through the use of biofuels.
