ISA discusses deep-sea mining


Whether to allow deep-sea mineral mining is on the agenda as the ISA convenes its 28th session

The International Seabed Authority has met to discuss allowing deep-sea mining to reconvene following the lapsing of an earlier prohibition.

Meeting for ten days in Jamaica from 10 July 2023, the council will discuss mineral mining along with other topics arising from working group discussions.
